I Am Not a Human Being is the eighth studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne. It is the follow-up to his 2010 album, “Rebirth,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It is the second album release in less than a year, capping off an outstanding decade that included selling 10 million records and earning eight Grammy nominations for his multi-platinum 2008 album, “The Carter III,” which shattered records by selling over one million copies in its first week of release.
“I Am Not a Human Being” was to be originally released as an EP, to excite fans for his “Tha Carter IV” album. But with Lil Wayne now recording all new material for that project, several songs intended for the album were put on “I Am Not a Human Being,” turning it into a full-length.

The digital release of the album was available for purchase at all online digital retailers on September 27, 2010, three weeks prior to the album’s physical release on October 12, 2010. “I want to give a gift on my birthday to my loyal fans who have continued to support me,” said Lil Wayne.
Production for the album was handled by Wayne and several record producers, including Boi-1da, Cool & Dre, StreetRunner, Noah “40? Shebib, and DJ Infamous, among others. It debuted at number 2 with 110,000 sold in its first week, just based on digital sales.

The album is a fine addition to the Lil Wayne discography, and if you didn’t like his last rock album this will due until the next Carter album comes out.

The lead single “Right Above It,” is an explosive street anthem featuring Drake.

He’s currently incarcerated on Rikers Island for possession of a weapon, but his second album this year is a return to classic Weezy, guitars only really featuring on the title track. Guests include Nicki Minaj, Lil Twist and T-Streets plus his protege Drake - who features on the single “Right Above It”, spacey opener “Gonorrhea” and dreamier “With You”. He is so prolific he sometimes spreads himself a lil’ thinly.
